Comedians can’t look funny all the time, and when Chelsea Handler’s friends and family made a comment that she looked bigger on TV than she really was, she came to the realization that she had to cut down on some of her favorite foods, and focus on getting her health and fitness back on track.
She’s doing this by committing to a fitness program, and sticking to a strict regiment of nutritious but still delicious food, as per recommended by her nutritionist. What’s amazing about this celebrity weight loss plan, is that Chelsea Handler was just like any normal woman, who loves eating mac and cheese and the occasional bag of potato chips, and her road to weight loss is something that is reachable by the average person.
Her fitness regiment is composed of Pilates exercises, which she finds gentle, yet effective, and best of all, not boring. This in addition to running and other cardio-vascular exercises, make her work out diverse, exciting, and prevents her from getting burned out. Pilates, she says, is much more fit for her mind and body, because yoga took too long with little results, and the regular gym exercises bored her long enough that she lost interest.
She combines this with her diet that is light, fibrous, high protein, low calorie, yet still delicious and nutritious. A typical day for Chelsea Handler consists of a breakfast of oatmeal with ground flax seeds, a midmorning snack of turkey salad, a light sushi for lunch, and a turkey meat loaf and green salad for dinner.
She admits to having to exert effort in maintaining the discipline required for this regiment, but shares that once she got used to her weight loss and diet plan, it became easier and easier to do. In fact, it even reached a point that she realized that she didn’t want to go back to some of her fatty foods.
